Chapter 19 - The Revelation|

A year later.

The summer sun warmed the glass balcony of our Lake Geneva house, painting the water in bright shades of sparkling turquoise.

Alina sat in a comfortable wicker armchair, wearing a white cotton dress, holding a small wooden frame in her hands, looking out over the quiet lake.

I walked out onto the balcony carrying two cups of tea, setting them down on the glass table.

"What are you looking at, my love?" I asked, sitting beside her.

She smiled, turning the framed photograph toward me.

It was a photograph taken six months after our wedding—the very night she had brought me a cup of tea in my study. I was buried in financial reports, looking exhausted, while her hand rested softly on my shoulder.

"Where did you find this?" I asked, surprised.

"My mother took it through the open study door that night," Alina revealed softly, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "She told me I looked at you like you were the entire universe."

"You were my entire universe, Alina," I said, taking her hand in mine. "I was just too blind to see it."

She smiled, leaning over, placing her free hand gently over her own stomach.

"Well," she whispered, her voice trembling with excitement, "you're going to have to share your universe in seven months."
