Chapter 12 - The Evidence|

Alina walked steadily to the head of the marble table, setting her leather binder down with a sharp, heavy clack.

"Three years ago," Alina announced, her dark eyes scanning the twenty-four board members, "Marcus Vance attempted to sabotage my family's firm to force a corporate acquisition. What he didn't realize was that my father kept duplicate encrypted ledgers of every single offshore transaction Marcus initiated."

She tapped her tablet, syncing it to the room's central wall monitors.

High-resolution bank records, wire transfer receipts, and internal emails instantly illuminated the screens—exposing Marcus’s entire paper trail of embezzlement, stock manipulation, and corporate espionage.

"Marcus didn't save Moretti Global," Alina said, her voice dropping into a razor-sharp tone. "He stole twelve million dollars from your private pension reserves to fund his offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands."

The board members gasped, several of them jumping to their feet in utter rage.

"Liars!" Marcus screamed, scrambling out of his chair, his hands shaking frantically as he pointed at the screens. "She's fabricating evidence to protect her husband! She's a nobody who married him for money!"

"She's my wife," a deep voice boomed from the doorway.

I stepped through the glass doors, wearing my charcoal suit, my hands tucked loosely into my coat pockets, flanked by four federal marshals.

I walked over to Alina, placing my hand firmly over hers on the marble table, looking down at Marcus with absolute, cold murder in my eyes.

"And she just saved this entire company from you," I said flatly.
