Chapter 13 - The Purge|

The federal marshals moved forward without a word, pulling Marcus’s arms behind his back and snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists.

"Dante! Wait! Listen to me!" Marcus sobbed, his arrogant facade completely shattering as he was forced toward the exit. "We're family! You can't let them take me!"

"You ceased to be my family the moment you touched my wife," I said coldly, turning my back on him.

Director Vance and the two complicit directors sat frozen in their leather chairs, their faces pale with terror as federal auditors began serving them with formal subpoenas across the table.

Within twenty minutes, the boardroom was cleared of traitors.

The remaining fifteen directors stood up, offering deep, respectful bows to Alina and me.

"Mr. Moretti," the senior director rasped out nervously. "We... we apologize for the misunderstanding. Mrs. Moretti’s evidence was absolute."

"Mrs. Moretti doesn't need your apologies, Director," I replied, my arm wrapped tightly around Alina’s waist. "She needs your vote. Effective immediately, Alina Moretti is appointed Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors."

The board members didn't hesitate. Every hand in the room raised instantly in unanimous approval.

Alina looked up at me, a soft, radiant smile touching her lips, her eyes shining with quiet pride and warmth.

I leaned down, pressing a tender kiss against her temple right in front of the entire board.
