Chapter 8 - The Trust DocumentThursday morning arrived with heavy, gray skies over Manhattan. Inside the penthouse boardroom of Moretti Holdings, Marcus Vance stood at the head of the mahogany table, addressing the board of directors with a solemn, theatrical expression of grief.

“Gentlemen,” Marcus announced, resting his palms flat against the wood. “As you know, my esteemed nephew-in-law, Dominic Moretti, remains unresponsive in critical care. Medical prognoses indicate zero probability of neurological recovery. Therefore, under the emergency governance clause enacted by his fiancée, Miss Veronica Vance, we must ratify the immediate restructuring of executive voting rights.”
Anthony Moretti sat to his right, wearing a smirk he was struggling to conceal. “It’s what Dominic would have wanted,” Anthony lied smoothly, adjusting his tie. “Continuity of leadership. To ensure the multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio doesn't stall during this tragic transition.”
The board members murmured uneasily among themselves. Several veteran directors exchanged skeptical glances. One of them, an elderly partner named Henderson, cleared his throat. “Without a formal notarized medical power of attorney or Dominic’s physical signature, transferring majority voting shares violates corporate charter section twelve. We cannot proceed without verification.”
The heavy oak doors of the boardroom suddenly swung open with a resounding bang that rattled the crystal water pitchers on the table.
“Verification has arrived,” a deep, resonant voice echoed through the vast hall.

Every head snapped toward the entrance.
Standing in the doorway, dressed in a sharp black bespoke suit that fit his lean, muscular frame like armor, was Dominic Moretti. His skin was pale, and a faint bruise lingered on his jaw, but his posture was upright, commanding, and radiating an aura of absolute dominance that froze every person in the room.
