Chapter 10 - Grace Under FireBefore the agents could slap the cuffs on Veronica, she lunged toward the panoramic windows overlooking the Manhattan skyline, desperately reaching into her designer handbag for a small burner phone. “You can’t do this!” she screamed hysterically, tears of rage ruining her makeup. “The transfer hasn't cleared yet! If I don't hit send, the accounts lock down!”

“Too late, Miss Hayes,” a quiet voice spoke from the doorway.
Grace Miller stepped into the boardroom, wearing her crisp maid uniform, holding a high-end tablet connected directly to the corporate mainframe. She tapped the screen with a steady finger. “I intercepted your encrypted routing codes through the penthouse server at 3:00 AM. The federal cyber-crime division locked the Zurich accounts four hours ago. Your money isn't going to Geneva, Veronica. It’s staying right here.”
Veronica whirled around, her eyes blazing with pure venom as she lunged at Grace. “You filthy little servant! You ruined everything!”

Before Veronica’s fingernails could scratch Grace’s face, a pair of heavy tactical hands gripped Veronica’s arms, pinning her back instantly. Federal agents slapped steel cuffs onto her wrists with a definitive, ringing snap.
As Veronica was hauled out kicking and screaming, her white bridal gown trailing behind her on the dusty floor like a discarded shroud, Anthony and Marcus were dragged out in tandem, their expensive suits crumpled and their arrogant façades reduced to whimpering panic.
