THE GLASS PRISON / Chapter 6 / 10

Chapter 6 - The Cracking Glass“Williams, stop!” Brenda shrieked, dropping her bouquet and running down the aisle after him, her heavy lace gown catching on the chairs. “Don't go in there! It’s dangerous!”

The three hundred guests stood up in complete chaos, reporters pulling out cameras as Williams reached the open door of the dressing room.

What Williams saw inside made his blood run cold.

Standing in the center of the room was the massive, six-foot bronze mirror. The glass was spiderwebbed with glowing green cracks.

And trapped directly inside the glass, screaming his name, was the real Lily—wearing her simple engagement dress, her face pale, her hands bleeding against the barrier.

And standing beside Williams at the doorway was the imposter—wearing the wedding dress, holding her hands out in frantic panic.

Williams looked from the woman in the glass to the woman beside him.

“What... what is this?!” Williams shouted, his eyes wide with shock and horror.

Brenda stepped closer, her voice shaking violently as her stolen face began to glitch, her real features flickering beneath the illusion like a static television screen.
