Chapter 9 - The Boardroom CoupGrant turned toward the screen, his face turning ghostly white as he recognized his father’s forged signatures displayed for the entire city to see.
“This is a fake!” Grant yelled, his voice cracking with desperation. “That ledger was destroyed in the 2019 fire! It’s a complete fabrication!”
“It wasn't in the fire, Grant,” Audrey said, stepping up to the microphone, her voice steady, clear, and resonant. “My father knew what you and your father were doing. He hid the truth inside the one place you’d never think to look—a simple, honest piece of furniture made with human hands.”
The lead federal agent stepped forward, pulling a pair of steel handcuffs from his belt.
“Grant Whitmore, Arthur Whitmore,” the agent announced, his voice echoing through the silent ballroom. “You are under arrest for grand larceny, corporate embezzlement, securities fraud, and arson.”
As the handcuffs clicked around Grant’s wrists, the billionaire CEO looked at Adam with sheer, helpless rage.
“You...” Grant hissed through gritted teeth. “A nobody... a useless handyman...”
Adam adjusted his cufflinks, looking down at Grant with calm, unyielding dignity.
“A handyman fixes what’s broken, Whitmore,” Adam said quietly. “And your entire life was built on broken promises.”

The crowd watched in awe as Grant Whitmore and his father were led out of the ballroom in handcuffs, surrounded by federal agents and flashing news cameras.
Within minutes, the remaining board members rushed toward Audrey, unanimously voting to reinstate the Holloway family as the majority controllers of the corporation.
