Chapter 10 - The View from Maple StreetSix months later.

The summer sun shone warmly over Maple Street.

Outside Elaine Holloway’s yellow house, a large ribbon-cutting ceremony was taking place. The newly reorganized Holloway Foundation for Community Housing was officially opening its first fifty affordable homes for working-class families, built entirely on the preserved Riverfront land.

Elaine stood on the porch, crying tears of joy as she held her husband’s original architectural compass.

Paige stood nearby, laughing with neighbors and handing out cake.

Down by the white Rivera Repairs van parked near the curb, Adam was leaning against the bumper, wearing his comfortable blue work shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Audrey walked over to him, wearing a yellow summer dress, her dark hair blowing softly in the warm breeze.

“You’re supposed to be celebrating inside, CEO,” Adam said with a warm smile.

“I’d rather be out here with the man who made it all possible,” Audrey replied, stepping close into his space and placing her hands gently on his chest.

Adam looked down at her, his dark eyes filled with deep, unmistakable affection. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close.

“I’m just a guy who fixes bed frames,” Adam murmured softly.

“No, Adam Rivera,” Audrey whispered, leaning up on her tiptoes, her lips hovering inches from his. “You’re the man who fixed my entire life.”

Adam leaned down and kissed her—a deep, tender, passionate kiss that sealed three years of silent longing and built a future as solid and unbreakable as iron.

The neighborhood echoed with laughter and music, but in that quiet moment beside the old work truck, Adam and Audrey found the only structure that truly mattered: a home built on love, truth, and a promise that would last a lifetime.
