Chapter 6 - Midnight InterrogationAt 2:00 AM, a soft knock echoed at the suite door.

Elena, who had been sitting wide-awake on the edge of the velvet sofa, stood up instantly and grabbed a heavy crystal paperweight from the desk.
The door clicked open, and Dante stepped inside. He had removed his suit jacket; his white dress shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, and his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, revealing strong, corded forearms.
He took one look at the crystal paperweight in her hand and raised an eyebrow.
"Planning to bludgeon me with office supplies?" Dante asked dryly, closing the door behind him.
"I'm defending myself against an unauthorized intruder," Elena retorted, not lowering the paperweight.
"It's 2:00 AM in my building, Ms. Vance. Every square inch of this property belongs to me," Dante said, stepping closer with casual confidence. "Put the paperweight down. I didn't come here to hurt you."
"Then why are you here?"

"Because Marcus brought back the Varga enforcer you introduced to your shoe earlier this evening," Dante said, his grey eyes locking onto hers. "And before he lost consciousness, he gave us a name. A name that connects the Varga cartel directly to your father's disappearance."
Elena’s breath caught. She dropped the paperweight onto the desk with a sharp thud. "My father? What did he say about my father?"
