Chapter 10 - The ArmoryThe rest of the day passed in a blur of tactical preparations, weapons checks, and strategic briefings.

Dante led Elena down to the subterranean armory—a vast, concrete vault lined with rows of tactical assault rifles, sidearms, and bulletproof vests.

"Choose your weapon," Dante instructed, gesturing toward a rack of sleek, silenced Glock pistols.

Elena stared at the black steel weapon, her stomach tightening. "I've never fired a gun in my life."

"Then today is your lucky day," Dante said quietly, stepping up behind her.

He reached around her, his broad chest pressing lightly against her back as his warm hands covered hers on the workbench. He adjusted her grip, his fingers guiding hers around the cool polymer handle with practiced, effortless precision.

"Keep your stance wide," Dante murmured, his voice vibrating against her ear. "Relax your shoulders. Don't fight the recoil; let your body absorb it."

Elena’s breath hitched. The proximity was intoxicating, smelling faintly of expensive cologne, cedarwood, and danger. She forced her focus onto the target silhouette across the firing range.

BANG.

The gunshot echoed deafeningly through the concrete vault, leaving a clean hole just outside the bullseye.

"Not bad for a beginner," Dante whispered, his lips brushing near her temple before he stepped back. "Now, let's go get your father back."
