Chapter 6 - THE MILLION-DOLLAR SECRETAvery and Luca investigate the missing money.
They discover that twenty years earlier, Luca's father and Richard Bennett created a legitimate international shipping company.
Millions of dollars were invested.
Then the money disappeared.
Luca's father was blamed.
But the records show something different.
Richard transferred the money into another company.
That company eventually became the financial foundation of Bennett Atlantic Logistics.
Avery is devastated.
Her family's wealth was built on stolen money.
She tells Luca:
"Everything my father gave me..."
Luca finishes:
"May have belonged to my family."
Avery expects him to demand repayment.
Instead, Luca says:
"I don't want your money."
"Then what do you want?"
"The truth."
Avery realizes that is the difference between Luca and Caleb.
Caleb wants ownership.
Luca wants justice.
Meanwhile, Caleb secretly meets with Richard.
He reveals that he knows Avery has discovered the documents.
Caleb tells Richard:
"If she talks, both of us go down."
Richard asks:
"What are you suggesting?"
