Chapter 5 - THE NIGHT EVERYTHING BURNEDThe Moretti estate comes under attack.

Luca immediately moves Avery to safety.
Avery sees the ruthless side of him for the first time.
He becomes cold and terrifying.
But he never loses control around her.
The attack confirms that Caleb is willing to escalate.
Avery blames herself.
She tells Luca:
"Everyone around me gets hurt."
Luca answers:
"Then stay beside me."
She asks:
"Because you can protect me?"
He shakes his head.
"Because you shouldn't have to face this alone."
They escape to a private coastal property.
The location resembles the dramatic seaside landscape from the image.
Rain begins falling.
Avery walks barefoot along the wet road.
Luca watches from beside the car.
She finally tells him:
"I was supposed to marry a man who never asked what I wanted."
Luca replies:
"Then don't marry anyone."
Avery smiles sadly.
"What if I want to?"
Luca freezes.
Their emotional connection deepens.
But neither crosses the final line.
That night, Avery discovers a hidden compartment inside the house.
Inside is another letter from Luca's father.
It contains a name.
Richard Bennett.
And beneath it:
