Chapter 8 - Cracks in the FacadeMarcus Vance walked straight to the head of the glass table, leaning his heavy hands over the surface, glaring down at Julian like a lion staring at a rat.

âThe meeting is over, Blackwood,â Marcus spoke, his voice booming like thunder through the silent room. âAnd so is your firm.â
I stepped forward, setting a laptop on the center table and connecting it to the roomâs main projection screen.
The screen flickered to life, displaying Julianâs encrypted wire transfers, his offshore bank accounts, and the falsified steel inspection reports.
The thirty corporate executives in the room erupted into wild shouts and gasps of fury!
âThese are fake!â Julian shrieked, standing up so fast his leather chair tumbled backward onto the floor. âThis is a setup! Samantha stole private company files! Sheâs mentally unstable!â

âI am not unstable, Julian,â Samantha said, looking him dead in the eye without a single flinch. âI watched you forge those safety documents. Julian backed away toward the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, his breath ragged, his pristine suit rumpled with sweat as he looked around the room for an escape that didn't exist.
