Chapter 4 - The Trail of BetrayalAs news of Lorena’s arrest hit the financial headlines, Roberto launched a full investigation into his late wife’s tragic passing three years prior. Elena had reportedly died from a sudden heart failure at their coastal villa—a diagnosis signed off by a doctor handpicked by Lorena herself.

Determined to find the whole truth, Roberto requested a formal review of Elena's medical records with the help of federal prosecutors.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, María stayed by Leo's side through his recovery. The little boy, who had been timid and mute from trauma, began to blossom under María’s genuine warmth. He ate hearty meals, laughed in the garden, and gripped María’s hand whenever he felt anxious.
"María," Leo whispered one afternoon while sitting in the sunny courtyard, drawing a picture with colored pencils. "Will you stay with us? Daddy is sad, but when you are here, the house isn't cold."

María smiled warmly, wiping a streak of crayon from his cheek. "I will stay as long as you need me, little one."
Roberto, watching them from the study window, felt a warmth return to his heart that he thought had died years ago.
