Chapter 4 - THE INVISIBLE INTRUSION

The intrusions became bolder. I started keeping a private journal of every time I found her in our home, noting the date, the time, and exactly what she had rearranged. One Friday evening, I found her in our bedroom, looking through my personal medical records that I had kept in a locked filing cabinet. The lock had been pried open with a screwdriver.
When I asked her what she was doing, she didn't even try to lie. She just straightened up and told me that as a nurse, I should be more concerned about "privacy breaches" in my own home than the hospital. The audacity was breathtaking. I began to realize that Lorraine didn't just want access—she wanted to exert power, and Corey’s refusal to stand up to her was fueling her unchecked confidence.
