The trial for Lorraine and Walter Whitman was the highlight of the local news for weeks. The footage of the kitchen attack, the financial fraud audit, and the testimonies of former employees painted a portrait of a family built on greed, violence, and systematic control.
They were found guilty on multiple counts, including domestic abuse and massive financial fraud. Seeing them handcuffed and led out of the courtroom, I felt nothing but a clean, sharp satisfaction. The "Queen of the Kitchen" was going to prison, and I was finally, truly safe.
