THE QUEEN OF SAN RAFAEL / Chapter 10 / 10

Chapter 10 - The True VictorySix months later.

The old Ruiz family café in the center of Marbella had been completely transformed. It was no longer a struggling shop, but a beautiful, sunlit botanical bakery and community center, fully funded and designed by Valentina. Her parents, now happily retired from manual labor, managed the sanctuary with smiles on their faces, surrounded by fresh flowers and warm pastries.

Patricia Montalvo and Rodrigo Castillo had been forced to leave Marbella after their family assets were liquidated to satisfy creditors. They took low-paying jobs in another city, learning for the first time what hard work and humility truly meant.

On a warm summer evening, the garden behind the Ruiz bakery was decorated with fairy lights and blooming white jasmine.

Valentina stood on the glass patio wearing a simple, gorgeous white summer dress—devoid of heavy diamonds or corporate armor. She looked relaxed, radiant, and truly happy.

Mateo walked up behind her, wrapping his arms gently around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.

"The board approved the new scholarship foundation today," Mateo whispered in her ear. "The Ruiz Foundation will provide full university grants to five hundred low-income students across Spain every year."

Valentina leaned back into his chest, letting out a deep, contented sigh.

"No more invisible kids," she said softly.

"No more invisible kids," Mateo agreed, turning her around in his arms to look into her bright honey eyes. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, simple velvet box.

He didn't offer her a corporate deal or a high-society alliance. He opened it to reveal a simple, delicate ring set with a small, glowing yellow diamond—the color of morning sunlight.

"Valentina," Mateo said gently, his voice full of steady, unconditional devotion. "You built an empire, but you gave me a home. Will you build the rest of your life with me?"

Valentina looked at the man who had stood by her through poverty, hard work, and triumph. Tears of true joy finally overflowed, trailing down her cheeks.

"Yes," she whispered, stepping into his arms and kissing him under the fairy lights. "A thousand times, yes."
