THE PRICE OF KINDNESS / Chapter 7 / 10

Chapter 7 - The Reckoning at Caldwell AureliaThe next morning, Julian called a mandatory general meeting at the Caldwell Aurelia Hotel.

Every board member, manager, and staff member was gathered in the grand ballroom where Hannah had once worked as a waitress.

Julian stood at the podium in his dark suit, flanked by his legal team. Beside him sat Hannah, looking stunning in a white blazer and trousers, holding a formal portfolio.

"For three years," Julian announced smoothly, "Preston Vale embezzled over four million dollars from this property while mistreating the staff and creating a culture of fear. Last night, federal authorities arrested Mr. Vale at his home."

The staff cheered quietly.

"Furthermore," Julian continued, looking out at the housekeepers, bellmen, and kitchen workers, "effective today, Hannah Moore is officially appointed as the Executive Vice President of Guest Relations and Staff Welfare for the entire Caldwell Group."

Hannah stood up, greeted by a standing ovation from her former co-workers. She spoke with grace and humility, announcing immediate wage increases, better working conditions, and a employee relief fund funded directly by the hotel’s profits.
