THE PRICE OF KINDNESS / Chapter 10 / 10

Chapter 10 - Where Love BelongsOne year later.

The grand gardens of the Caldwell Estate were filled with white roses, twinkling lights, and laughter. Hundreds of guests—including hotel staff, board members, and close friends—gathered for the wedding of the year.

Lily walked down the aisle as the flower girl, wearing a white lace dress, scattering petals with a bright, radiant smile.

At the altar stood Julian, looking striking in a bespoke black tuxedo, his gray eyes shining with emotion as the music shifted.

Hannah walked down the aisle, wearing an exquisite ivory gown with a long lace train that caught the gentle summer breeze. She looked radiant, confident, and breathtakingly beautiful.

When she reached the altar, Julian took her hand, kissing her knuckles tenderly.

The minister smiled at the couple. "Julian and Hannah, your journey began not in comfort, but in a storm—where a single act of selfless kindness brought two souls together. Do you, Julian, take Hannah to be your lawful wedded wife?"

"I do," Julian said firmly, looking deep into her eyes. "Forever."

"And do you, Hannah, take Julian to be your lawful wedded husband?"

"I do," Hannah whispered, her voice filled with love.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared. "You may kiss the bride!"

Julian pulled Hannah into his arms, dipping her gently as he kissed her passionately amidst thunderous cheers from the crowd. Lily ran up, hugging both of their legs, laughing with pure delight.

Later that evening, as the stars shone brightly over Chicago, Julian and Hannah stood on the balcony of their penthouse.

Julian pulled out a framed shadowbox from his desk and hung it on the wall. Inside was the original crumpled twenty-dollar bill Hannah had handed him in the rain, preserved forever.

Hannah smiled, resting her head against his chest. "A twenty-dollar investment."

Julian wrapped his arms tightly around her, kissing her forehead. "No, my love. A twenty-dollar miracle."
