Chapter 6 - The Live-Streamed TruthThe giant seventy-inch presentation screen on the boardroom wall flickered to life.

Instead of Daniel’s architectural proposal, the screen displayed a comprehensive forensic financial audit titled: APEX HORIZONS LLC: EMBEZZLEMENT & IDENTITY FRAUD REPORT.

A collective gasp echoed around the mahogany table.

The senior partners leaned forward, staring at high-resolution images of forged corporate signatures, fake consulting invoices, and offshore bank routing numbers linking Daniel directly to four hundred thousand dollars in stolen funds.

“What is the meaning of this?!” Arthur Vance demanded, his voice booming across the room as he glares at Daniel.

Daniel stumbled backward against his chair, sweating profusely. “Mr. Vance! This is a malicious fabrication! My wife is getting back at me over a personal domestic argument!”

“Personal domestic argument, Daniel?” I asked softly, tapping a button on my tablet.

The screen shifted, playing the high-definition security footage captured from my pool patio the previous afternoon: Daniel and Vanessa laughing together in the water, followed by the clear audio recording of Daniel saying, “You’re always calculating. Marriage shouldn’t feel like an audit.”

The board members stared at the screen in absolute horror and disgust.

“Furthermore,” I stated, my voice echoing with unshakeable authority, “Mr. Miller utilized company credentials to execute fraudulent wire transfers using stolen intellectual property. All evidence has been forwarded to the United States Attorney’s Office.”

Daniel dropped into his chair, his head buried in his hands, trembling uncontrollably as his professional reputation dissolved in front of his bosses.

“Daniel Miller,” Arthur Vance said, his voice cold as stone. “You are terminated effective immediately. Security will escort you off the premises.”
