Chapter 7 - The Revelation at the Hospital

Three days later, Daisy underwent her final corrective heart surgery at Dallas Medical Center.

Ethan stayed beside me in the waiting room for nine agonizing hours, holding my trembling hands, refusing to leave my side for a single second.

When the chief surgeon walked out with a broad, triumphant smile, announcing that Daisy’s heart was completely healed and functioning with one hundred percent normal capacity, I collapsed into Ethan's arms, weeping tears of pure, overwhelming gratitude.

That evening, Daisy was awake in her recovery room, eating popsicles while Mason, Michael, and Madison sat on her bed, reading her colorful picture books and making her laugh.

Ethan stood beside the window, watching the four children play together in perfect harmony.

He walked over to where I was sitting, gently taking my hand, and led me out onto the private hospital garden terrace overlooking the Dallas skyline.

"Naomi," Ethan spoke, his deep voice trembling with raw, beautiful vulnerability. "When you walked into my house four months ago, my life was a cold, empty fortress. You brought light back into my home, you gave my children a mother, and you showed me what true unconditional love looks like."

He looked deep into my eyes, cupping my cheek with his warm hand.

"I love you, Naomi. More than my company, more than my wealth, more than life itself."

"I love you too, Ethan," I whispered, resting my head against his heart.
