Chapter 6 - The Unraveling of Whitmore ConsultingTessa had tracked Rowan’s phone GPS to the Franklin farmhouse.

She stepped out of her car under a large black umbrella, wearing a sleek trench coat, her heels clicking angrily against the gravel steps.

“Rowan!” Tessa snapped, marching onto the porch. “What are you doing at this dump?! The rehearsal dinner coordinator has been trying to reach you for two hours!”

Then Tessa saw Maren standing in the doorway holding baby Luke, and Rowan standing beside her with the original brown investigation folder in his hands.

Tessa’s face went completely drain of color.

Rowan turned to face Tessa, his eyes dark, cold, and lethal.

“It’s over, Tessa,” Rowan declared, his voice echoing over the rain.

Tessa forced a nervous laugh, taking a step back. “Rowan... what are you talking about? Did she lie to you again? Whatever she told you—”

Rowan pulled the signed witness statements and the wire transfer records from Whitmore Consulting from the folder, throwing the papers directly into Tessa’s face!

The wet sheets stuck to her trench coat and landed in the mud at her feet!

“Ray Mercer gave me the full payment ledger, Tessa!” Rowan roared, his voice booming like thunder across the dark yard. “Two hundred thousand dollars from your private account to frame my wife! You staged the hotel photos, you planted my mother’s necklace in her closet, and you tried to starve my sons!”

Tessa backed off the porch steps, her sophisticated mask completely shattering into pure, panicked horror!

“Rowan... listen to me!” Tessa shrieked frantically. “She wasn't right for you! She was a nobody! I built your social status! My family’s firm brought you millions!”

“Your family’s firm is going to be bankrupt by Friday,” Rowan said with icy certainty. “Get off this property before I have state troopers pull you away in chains.”

Tessa scrambled into her car, speeding away into the dark rainstorm in complete humiliation!
