Chapter 24 - Fall of the GeneralVance stood frozen as his world collapsed around him in the warm Hawaiian breeze.

The two federal marshals behind him slowly re-holstered their sidearms. The lead marshal stepped forward, pulling a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his tactical belt.
“General Victor Vance,” the marshal said, his voice flat and official. “You are being placed under arrest by order of the United States Inspector General for conspiracy to commit murder, treason, and falsification of official military records.”
Vance looked at me, his eyes burning with venomous hatred. “You ruined everything, Miller. Everything we built.”
“Ethan built something better, Vance,” I said, looking him dead in the eye as the cuffs clicked around his wrists. “He built a son who didn't let you get away with it.”
As the marshals led Vance away toward an unmarked black sedan, the Marines surrounding us snapped to attention, presenting arms in a crisp, silent salute to Daniel and me.

General Cole walked over to us, placing a heavy hand on my shoulder and another on Daniel’s.
“Ethan would have been proud of both of you,” Cole said, his voice thick with emotion. “Come inside. There’s a long road ahead to clean up this mess, but today, the sky is clear.”
