The Boiling Point / Chapter 5 / 20

Chapter 5 - The Breaking PointHelen bristled with righteous indignation, refusing to back down even an inch. She jutted her chin forward, glaring up at her son with venomous eyes. "How dare you speak to me like that in my own house?!"

The sheer audacity of her response—caring more about her furniture and authority than her injured granddaughter—shattered the last remnants of Ethan’s self-control. Driven by a blinding mix of fury and protectiveness, Ethan raised his arm and shoved Helen backward.

The push caught Helen entirely off guard. She stumbled hard against the heavy wooden sideboard, losing her footing entirely before crashing down onto the floor.
