Chapter 6 - The Unraveling of DanielTwo state police cruisers pulled into the driveway, their red and blue lights flashing against the front windows.

Two uniformed officers walked up the porch steps, stepping into the living room.

“Mr. Daniel Vance?” the lead officer asked. “We have an execution warrant for grand felony fraud, identity theft, and elder financial exploitation.”

Daniel backed against the sofa, his hands trembling violently. “Officer, this is a family misunderstanding! My sister is trying to steal my inheritance!”

“Your mother’s assets are not an inheritance while she is sitting right here alive and well, Mr. Vance,” the officer replied coldly.
