Chapter 8 - Assault on the BlacksiteAt dawn, Emma received an intelligence update: Marcus Vance and the remaining leadership of the Apex Syndicate had established a temporary command node at a private airfield hangar ten miles outside the city. They were preparing to board a private jet with the remaining duplicated server codes.

"If that plane takes off, the technology is gone forever," Emma warned. "Local authorities are still forty minutes away."
"We aren't waiting forty minutes," Daniel said, tightening his tactical belt and loading his sidearm. "We end this now."
"I’m coming with you," Olivia declared firmly. "It’s my company, and Marcus needs to answer to me."
Daniel looked at her, seeing the fierce resolve in her eyes. He handed her a lightweight Kevlar vest. "Stay behind me at all times."
Twenty minutes later, their tactical SUV crashed through the perimeter gates of the abandoned airfield. Rain was pouring as Daniel, Emma, and two private security officers moved into tactical formation near the hangar doors.
Inside, Marcus Vance was shouting orders to six heavily armed mercenaries loading silver server crates onto the airstairs of a Gulfstream jet.
"Marcus!" Olivia’s voice echoed off the steel walls of the hangar.
Vance turned in shock. "Olivia? How did you—"

"Drop your weapons!" Daniel barked, stepping into the open with his weapon raised.
The mercenaries opened fire. Sparks flew across the concrete floor as a ferocious firefight erupted. Daniel moved like a whirlwind of tactical precision—flanking the enemy behind supply crates, taking out three shooters in rapid succession with pinpoint accuracy, while Emma covered the left flank.
