Chapter 15 - Confrontation at the MarinaClaire found Kevin at the local marina, sitting alone on the deck of a rented boat, a glass of scotch in his hand. He looked gaunt, the polished confidence he usually wore stripped away by weeks of mounting pressure.

"Claire," he choked out, standing up so fast his chair scraped loudly against the wooden planks. "You shouldn't be here."

"Neither should you," Claire replied, her voice icy and steady. "Pinnacle Asset Management is at the cabin right now, Kevin. They have a possession order."

Kevin’s face drained of color. He set his glass down with a shaking hand. "I was going to fix it. I just needed two more months. The restructuring deal was almost closed—"

"You forged my signature," Claire interrupted, stepping closer. "You took thirty years of memories, my parents' legacy, and gambled it on a failing business. And you used Megan to keep me away."

"Megan didn't know about the forgery!" Kevin blurted out desperately. "I told her we were doing a tax restructuring! I told her it was the only way to save our family from bankruptcy!"

"You didn't save the family, Kevin," Claire said softly. "You destroyed it."
