Chapter 19 - THE FALL|

Dante stared at the three-year-old girl, his chest heaving, his fingers tightening around the trigger of his gun.
"Shut up!" Dante shrieked, raising his weapon directly toward Lily.
BANG!
A single gunshot echoed through the grand foyer.
Dante’s eyes went wide. His gun slipped from his fingers, clattering onto the marble floor.
He looked down at his chest, where a dark crimson stain was rapidly spreading across his white shirt.
Behind him stood Vincent, holding a smoking pistol, his face grim and unreadable.
Dante collapsed onto his knees, looking up at his father one last time, before falling forward onto the cold marble floor—the exact spot where Isabella had stood screaming six days ago.
Silence descended over the Hudson estate once more.
Silas stood frozen on the steps, staring down at his youngest son's lifeless body, his heart breaking into a thousand pieces. He had lost two sons to this brutal, unforgiving world.
Marcus walked over, resting a hand gently on his father’s trembling shoulder. "It’s over, Father."
Silas closed his eyes, taking a long, ragged breath. When he opened them, he looked over at Rosa and Lily.

Lily reached out her small hand, offering the gold button toward her grandfather.
Silas walked down the remaining steps, dropped to his knees on the cold stone, and pulled his granddaughter and Marcus into a tight, protective embrace.
