Chapter 6 - The Flash Drive RevelationThe massive sixty-foot LED screen behind the stage flickered once, then transformed into a crystal-clear high-definition video feed.

The audio thundered through the ballroom speakers:
Ethanâs recorded voice: âDelete it. Right now!â Mayaâs voice: âWhy are you afraid of your own voice, Ethan?â
The screen displayed high-resolution footage captured from the beach gate camera: Ethan grabbing my wrist, twisting my arm, and slamming me violently into the wet sand while Vanessa watched from the car.
Then came the audio from the beach: Ethan: âWalk home. Maybe the humiliation will teach you when to stay quiet.â
Followed by Diane Vanceâs recorded voice outside the hospital room: Diane: âSheâs probably exaggerating for attention. Donât destroy his career.â
The entire ballroom was dead silent. You could hear a pin drop on the carpet.
Diane gasped, clutching her pearl necklace, her face pale as a ghost as dozens of high-society guests turned to glare at her with utter disgust. Vanessa sank into her chair, covering her face with her hands.
Ethan stammered, his hands shaking violently as he backed away from the podium. âThat... that video is fabricated! Itâs an AI edit! Sheâs trying to ruin me because I broke up with her!â
I looked at him calmly.
âI haven't even shown them the best part yet, Ethan,â I said softly.
I tapped my screen again, switching the display from the beach video to a second folder.

The screen filled with financial ledgers, bank routing numbers, and certified Treasury Department audit reports.
âThis is the four-million-dollar offshore wire transfer Ethan Vance executed at six o'clock tonight,â I announced to the room. âA transfer to a Cayman Islands account registered under a forged identityâan attempt to strip Hartwell Dynamics of its core R&D capital before his promotion.â
