Chapter 7 - Playing the Evidence

The massive overhead audio-visual screens hidden on either side of the chapel altar suddenly flickered to life. The soft string music cut out completely, replaced instantly by the crisp, high-definition video feed recorded by the battery-powered security camera inside my bridal suite.
The chapel speakers boomed with crystal-clear audio.
There, projected on a thirty-foot screen for two hundred elite guests to see, was Evelyn Harrow walking into my suite with a master key, holding three bottles of wine and bleach. The audience watched in stunned horror as she poured the corrosive liquids over my mother’s heirloom gown, laughed out loud, and placed her malicious note on top.
Then came the audio of her phone call: “Once she runs away crying, Adrian will finally have no choice but to sign the amended trust papers.”
A deafening shockwave of gasps and absolute silence swept through the pews. Heads whipped around instantly from the screen to stare directly at the third row.

Evelyn’s face had turned completely ghost-white. The arrogant smirk had vanished, replaced by a look of sheer, unmitigated terror as she realized her private crime had been broadcasted to every single person whose respect she valued most in the world.
“Turn that off! It’s a fake! It’s manipulated deepfake technology!” Evelyn shrieked, standing up and pointing a trembling finger at the screen while her voice cracked in sheer panic. “She’s lying! She’s trying to destroy our family!”
