Chapter 7 - The Hospital DeliveryWhile police pulled my soaking-wet parents out of the pool and placed them in handcuffs, Daniel returned to my hospital bedside at St. Judeâs.

At 11:42 p.m., after four hours of intense labor, I gave birth to a healthy, five-pound baby girl.

We named her Mayaâmeaning 'water and life.'

âSheâs safe now, Claire,â Daniel whispered. âThey will never touch our family again.â
