Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Dawn

Two years after our wedding, golden morning sunlight poured through the panoramic glass doors of our Newport master bedroom.

The room was warm, filled with the sweet fragrance of salt air, fresh coffee, and soft acoustic guitar music.

Julian was sitting in the wide cedar rocking chair beside the window, gently cradling our four-month-old baby boy, Leo. Leo had his father’s kind gray eyes and a soft tuft of dark brown hair, cooing happily as he clutched Julian’s thumb.

Titan lay contentedly at their feet, his tail thumping softly against the hardwood floor.

I walked over in my soft cream cashmere robe, wrapping my arms around Julian’s shoulders and resting my cheek against his temple.

Julian looked up, a radiant, peaceful smile touching his face as he kissed my lips.

"Look at our little captain, Elena," Julian whispered lovingly.

"He has his father's beautiful, honest soul," I smiled, reaching down to gently stroke Leo’s soft cheek.

I looked out through the glass at the sparkling blue Atlantic and the endless horizon glowing under the morning sun.

Four years ago, I had knelt on a cold marble floor in Lake George, tasting blood while cruel people laughed and told me to learn my place.

They had believed that violence, intimidation, and greed could break my spirit.

They had never understood that the truth is an invincible fortress.

From the ashes of betrayal, I had risen to dismantle their deceit, reclaim my power, and build an empire of justice, honor, and everlasting love.

Julian pulled me onto his lap, holding both Leo and me tight against his strong, beating heart.

The long storm was gone forever. In its place stood an eternal, magnificent dawn—and our lives, our family, and our empire were finally, gloriously whole.
