Chapter 9 - The Truth on the RunwayThe house lights dimmed. The music swelled into a dramatic, rhythmic beat as the first model walked out onto the elevated glass runway.

The audience collectively gasped.
The shoes were unlike anything the fashion world had seen in decades. They walked with effortless grace, the light catching hand-stitched gold silk ribbons, sculpted wood heels, and flawless Italian leather that conformed perfectly to the models' feet. The applause started as a murmur and built into a deafening roar.
Jean-Luc walked out onto the stage at the end of the show, bowing deeply as fashion editors stood up to give a standing ovation. He took the microphone, smiling pompously. “Thank you, thank you! As the creative director, I poured my soul into this vision—”
“That is a lie,” a powerful voice boomed through the auditorium speakers.
Rowan Blake stepped onto the center runway, holding a remote control. Behind him, the massive digital screens above the stage illuminated with high-definition footage recorded in the boutique’s basement over the past forty-eight hours.
The video clearly showed Marigold Ellis drafting the original sketches, cutting the leather, and guiding the master craftsmen, while Jean-Luc was nowhere to be seen. On another screen, her original dated Parsons sketchbook from years prior was displayed alongside detailed technical blueprints.
The crowd erupted into murmurs of shock.
“The true genius behind the collection that just saved Blake’s Footwear,” Rowan announced, his voice filled with pride and emotion, “is our new Vice President of Creative Design—Marigold Ellis.”

Spotlights shifted to the side of the stage. Marigold stood frozen in the beam of light, tears spilling down her cheeks. Rowan walked over, took her hand, and led her to the center of the runway.
From the front row, little Nova—wearing a beautiful white dress and sitting in a VIP seat—cheered at the top of her lungs, waving her small hands. The entire room rose to their feet in a thunderous, endless standing ovation.
