Chapter 6 - The Unnamed DesignerIn the basement workshop of the boutique, surrounded by dusty anvils, leather presses, and glowing lamps, Marigold stood stunned as Rowan laid out her lost sketchbook across the central work table.

“You found it,” she whispered, her hands flying to her mouth in embarrassment. “Mr. Blake, those were just old ideas from school... I didn't mean to leave them—”
“These are not just ideas, Marigold,” Rowan interrupted, looking directly into her eyes with an intensity she had never seen before. “This is genius. And right now, it is the only thing that can save this company.”
He explained the crisis upstairs—the ruined Parisian prototypes, the approaching gala deadline, and the ruthless investors waiting for failure.
“I need seven wearable, flawless showpieces by Thursday night,” Rowan said, stepping closer. “I will provide the master craftsmen, the finest materials, and whatever resources you demand. But you must lead them. You will be the head designer.”
Marigold looked down at her bandaged, aching hands. Fear gripped her throat. “I haven't built a full shoe in years, Rowan... What if I fail? What if my back gives out?”
Rowan reached out, gently cupping her bruised, calloused hands in his own. His touch was warm, firm, and surprisingly gentle. “You won't fail. Because I will be right beside you. Every hour. Every step.”

For the next thirty-six hours, time ceased to exist. Rowan shut down the showroom, rolled up his crisp white sleeves, and worked as Marigold’s assistant. He operated the heavy leather presses, cut raw hides according to her precise patterns, and mixed dyes under her direction.
As they worked through the night, Rowan saw the fire reignite within her eyes. Her exhaustion dissolved into pure artistic passion. Across the wooden workbenches, shared glances turned into deep conversations, and the cold barrier between boss and employee melted into a profound, magnetic connection.
