Chapter 10 - A Legacy Hand-Stitched with LoveSix months later.

The afternoon sun streamed through the expansive glass windows of the newly renovated Blake-Ellis Design Studio on Madison Avenue. The walls were adorned with framed magazine covers featuring Marigold’s award-winning footwear collections, which had taken the international fashion world by storm.
In the center of the bright, airy studio, a low wooden play table sat surrounded by soft cushions. Nova sat happily drawing with bright crayons, her laughter echoing through the room. She was completely healthy, her cheeks rosy, and her days of fear and cold apartments were long gone.
Marigold stood near a large drafting table, analyzing a new swatch of velvet leather. She wore an elegant beige trousers suit, her hair styled gracefully, her hands healed and smooth.
A pair of warm arms wrapped gently around her waist from behind. Rowan rested his chin on her shoulder, inhaling the soft scent of lavender in her hair.
“You’re working too hard, Vice President,” Rowan murmured softly, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Marigold turned in his arms, smiling up into his dark, loving eyes. “I’m not working, Rowan. I’m doing what I love. There’s a difference.”
Rowan reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a small, framed shadowbox. Inside, mounted against velvet fabric, were three old, crumpled one-dollar bills, framed alongside Nova’s original crayon drawing of the fading mother.
Marigold gasped softly, touching the glass with trembling fingers. “You kept them?”
“I keep them on my office desk every single day,” Rowan said, his voice thick with emotion. “To remind me of the day a courageous little girl brought a miracle into my cold life... and taught me how to love.”
Nova ran over, wrapping her arms around both of their legs. Rowan knelt down, picking her up in one arm while wrapping his other arm around Marigold, pulling them both into a deep, tender embrace.
