Chapter 13 - THE FINAL SHOWDOWN AT THE WAREHOUSE

With his enforcers neutralized and his tactical advantage completely stripped away, Lorenzo Russo retreated into the main administrative office at the center of the pier warehouse, holding a heavy detonator switch connected to the facility's emergency gas lines. Enzo breached the office door alone, stepping into the dusty room with his weapons holstered, projecting an aura of terrifying, unshakeable calm. Lorenzo stood by the window, sweat beading on his forehead, his finger twitching nervously over the trigger. "You think you won, Moretti?" Lorenzo laughed hysterically, his voice echoing off the corrugated metal walls. "You can't kill me without destroying every financial ledger linking your family to the port syndicates!"
From the doorway, stepping out from behind Enzo’s broad shoulder, I raised my tablet and displayed the federal encryption override we had secured from Vance’s compromised terminal. "He doesn't need to kill you, Lorenzo," I said, my voice cutting cleanly through the tension of the room. "Federal prosecutors have already downloaded every encrypted file, shell corporation record, and wire transfer from your offshore accounts. Your empire was dismantled twenty minutes ago." Lorenzo stared at the screen in absolute horror, realizing his life's work had evaporated into thin air. Before he could squeeze the detonator, Marco—nursing a bandaged shoulder—rushed in alongside two tactical officers, tackling Lorenzo to the floor and snapping steel handcuffs around his wrists. The generational war was finally over.
