Two years after our wedding, the morning sun poured through the French doors of our master bedroom.

The room was filled with the sweet scent of fresh lavender and the sound of soft acoustic guitar music playing from the record player.

Marcus stood beside the wooden crib, gently cradling our three-month-old baby boy, Thomas. Thomas had his father’s hazel eyes and calm brow, sleeping peacefully in a soft cotton swaddle.

Four-year-old Clara tiptoed into the room, wearing her favorite dinosaur pajamas, holding a storybook.

"Daddy," Clara whispered, tugging on Marcus’s trousers. "Is baby Tommy awake? I want to read him about the flying dragons."

Marcus smiled, kneeling down with one arm around Thomas and scooping Clara onto his other knee with effortless strength.

I sat up in bed, wearing a soft cream robe, watching my husband and our two beautiful children with a heart overflowing with boundless gratitude.
