Chapter 7 - The Unmasking at the BoardroomEthan panicked, turning to run down the driveway, but two police cruisers blocked his escape, their red and blue lights flashing against the wet pavement.

Officers tackled him onto the lawn, snapping steel handcuffs around his wrists for his second arrest in four days—this time for felony stalker violation of a protective order and terroristic threats!

The following Monday at ten o'clock, the emergency board meeting of Vance Financial Group was held at their corporate headquarters downtown.

As a fifty-percent equity owner through my mother’s trust holdings, I walked into the glass boardroom flanked by Arthur Vance and two forensic accountants.

Ethan’s senior partners sat around the long mahogany table, looking pale and nervous.

Arthur set a heavy black binder in front of the Managing Partner.

“Gentlemen,” Arthur announced calmly. “This binder contains undeniable proof that Ethan Vance embezzled 1.2 million dollars from client retirement accounts, funneling the money through shell corporations registered under Vanessa Vale’s name.”

The Managing Partner opened the file, his eyes widening in total horror as he scanned the fraudulent wire transfers.

“Effective immediately,” the Managing Partner declared, slamming the binder shut, “Ethan Vance is terminated for cause, and we are handing these files over to the Securities and Exchange Commission.”
