Chapter 4 - Unspoken TruthsWe arrived at the corporate tower on 5th Avenue just past 9:30 PM. Rain was falling in heavy sheets, blurring the neon signs above.

Using a spare key card Clara had kept from her time working as a design consultant for the firm, we slipped past the night security guard and rode the elevator to the 14th floor. The hallway was dark, silent, and lined with polished marble.

Inside were stacks of folders. Clara began frantically sorting through them while I kept watch near the frosted glass door, listening for the sound of the elevator.
