Chapter 7 - The Winter UnveilingFriday morning arrived with a heavy snowstorm blanketing the city of Boston.

The grand auditorium on the top floor of the Hastings Building was packed with board members, major shareholders, federal observers, and reporters.
Richard Hastings stood at the podium, wearing a tailored suit, putting on a performance of deep regret.
âIt pains me to say this,â Richard spoke into the microphone, âbut my nephew Edwardâs reckless actions in Africa have brought disgrace upon our family legacy. We must vote today to remove him as CEO and restore integrity to this firm!â
Several board members nodded in agreement, preparing to cast their physical ballots.
Suddenly, the heavy double doors at the back of the auditorium swung open.
A hush fell over the four hundred people in the room.
Walking down the center aisle was Milana Diop Hastings.
She wore an ethereal midnight-blue velvet gown adorned with silver stars.
And for the very first time since entering the country, she wore no veil.
Edward, sitting at the defense table, stood up slowly, his eyes widening in complete, absolute awe.
The woman who walked toward the stage was breathtakingly beautiful. Her rich brown skin glowed under the stage lights, her high cheekbones were sculpted with regal elegance, and her deep brown eyes radiated an unshakeable, royal authority.
The entire ballroom was so quiet you could hear the soft falling of snow against the high glass windows.
Richard froze at the podium, his mouth hanging open, entirely speechless.

Milana walked right past her husband, giving him a subtle, radiant smile, and stepped up to the second podium on the stage.
She didn't reveal her face to show off her beauty. She revealed her face because the moment of truth had finally arrived.
