Sterling had intentionally kept Rachel and me alienated from our father and terrified of legal action so that he could maintain sole control over the multi-million-dollar trust funds. When Rachel discovered the truth fifteen years ago, Sterling threatened her life, driving her into hiding under an assumed name.
Rachel had lived modestly in a small coastal town, working as an independent illustrator while waiting for the statute of limitations on Sterling's fraudulent land claims to expire.
