Chapter 5 - The Father’s FearThe giant screen lit up, not with romantic couple photos, but with massive, high-definition screenshots of Blake’s private text messages.

A collective gasp rippled through the three hundred guests.

The text thread filled the screen: “Once the baby is born, we file for sole custody based on her income level.”

Blake’s face turned bright red, then pale as ash. “Emma! Stop this right now! Turn that off!”

He lunged forward to grab her phone, but Emma took a step back, pointing her finger directly at his face.

“Don’t touch me, Blake,” Emma commanded, her voice dropping like iron.

The screen shifted, playing an audio recording recorded three weeks ago inside Blake’s car.

Blake’s voice boomed out through the cathedral’s state-of-the-art speakers, crystal clear and horrifying:

“I don't care about Emma or her stupid teaching job. She’s just a vessel until the heir is born. Chloe and I are taking the company jet to St. Barts next week.”

In the third row, Chloe—the mistress in the burgundy silk gown—stood up in complete terror, her face pale, as every camera in the room turned toward her!

Eleanor Donovan stood up, shrieking hysterically at the church technicians. “CUT THE POWER! CUT THE POWER IMMEDIATELY!”

“You can’t cut the power, Eleanor,” Emma said softly, holding up her phone. “The file is being live-streamed to two hundred thousand viewers on the state news portal right now.”

At that moment, Blake’s father, Richard Donovan, stood up from the front row, his hands covering his mouth in pure, unadulterated horror.

Because the screen shifted to its final file: OFFSHORE TAX EVASION AUDIT — GRAND CAYMAN & DONOVAN GLOBAL.
