Chapter 11 - Uncovering the BetrayalCynthia

Chapter 11 - Uncovering the BetrayalCynthia dropped the briefcase onto the rug, realizing she was caught red-handed. But instead of begging for mercy, her expression hardened into pure malice. She reached into her jacket pocket, pulled out a small digital flash drive, and held it threateningly over the wastebasket. "You’re too late, Ethan. The corporate override codes have already been transmitted to Julian. By morning, Vale Maritime Logistics will be legally transferred into our subsidiary holdings. You’ll be bankrupt, paralyzed, and entirely powerless."
Before Cynthia could drop the flash drive, Maggie lunged forward from the shadows of the hallway, tackling Cynthia sideways away from the desk. The flash drive slipped from Cynthia’s fingers, clattering across the polished floorboards. Ethan maneuvered his wheelchair swiftly, using his heavy foot to trap the tiny device beneath his shoe.
"You stupid, ungrateful little—" Cynthia screeched, thrashing against Maggie’s grip.

"Call federal authorities, Maggie," Ethan ordered calmly, looking down at the trapped flash drive with icy triumph. "Tell Special Agent Miller that we have intercepted an active corporate espionage and wire fraud conspiracy."
Cynthia’s face turned ash-gray. The illusion of their untouchable corporate coup dissolved completely.
