Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Horizon

That evening, as the sun dipped beneath the horizon, painting the sky over Lake Michigan in breathtaking hues of blush pink, gold, and violet, Julian and I walked along the private shoreline.

The gentle waves lapped against the sand, washing away every footprint left behind.

I remembered the night I sat on that living room armchair, watching a message on a glowing screen, feeling the cold sting of betrayal from the two people I had trusted most.

They had believed that their cruelty would break me. They had believed that taking off a wedding ring would leave me destitute and alone in the dark.

They had never understood that my strength had never come from a man, a marriage, or a false friendship. It had come from my own unbreakable soul.

Julian pulled me into his arms, wrapping his coat around my shoulders as the cool lake breeze swept past, kissing my forehead with tender warmth.

I looked out over the vast, sparkling water, breathing in the fresh, clean air of a new life.

The shadows of the past had completely dissolved. In their place stood a life built on integrity, immense success, and a love that was pure, honorable, and forever unbroken.
