Chapter 7 - The Transformation

Over the next two weeks, the Blackwell penthouse transformed into a sanctuary of healing and celebration.

Marcus canceled all international travel, delegating corporate operations to his executive board, dedicating every single hour to his daughters.

A specialized team of pediatric dermatologists, nutritionists, and physical therapists visited daily. Emma’s skin healed, her cheeks filled out with rosy, vibrant health, and her dark brown hair grew glossy and soft.

On a bright Tuesday afternoon, the private elevator opened to reveal three luxury personal stylists from the city’s finest children’s boutiques, carrying racks of beautiful dresses, coats, and shoes.

Lily grabbed Emma’s hand, leading her to the full-length mirror in the grand dressing suite.

"Look, Emma!" Lily cheered, holding up an identical daffodil-yellow lace dress with ruffled sleeves and matching satin ribbons. "We can be twins for real now!"

Emma stood before the mirror as the stylist fastened the delicate yellow dress around her shoulders and slipped matching yellow shoes with frilled white socks onto her feet.

Emma looked at her reflection in utter disbelief.

Standing side by side, dressed in identical yellow dresses with matching pigtails and satin bows, the two girls were completely inseparable. Lily’s warm brown eyes sparkled with joy, while Emma’s bright emerald eyes glowed with pure, unburdened wonder.

Emma reached out, touching the glass of the mirror, a radiant, breathtaking smile breaking across her face.

Marcus stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame, watching his daughters giggle and twirl together across the marble floor.

For the first time in seven years, the hollow ache in his chest was completely gone, replaced by an ocean of boundless love.
