Chapter 4 - The 99.9% Certainty

At 1:15 AM, the study door clicked open.
Dr. Harrison walked in, holding a certified, red-stamped laboratory document.
She placed the paper on Marcus’s desk without uttering a single word.
Marcus looked down at the bold, undeniable print:
"PATERNITY AND TWIN ZYGOSITY INDEX: 99.998% MATCH. SUBJECT A (LILY BLACKWELL) AND SUBJECT B (EMMA VANCE) ARE MONOZYGOTIC IDENTICAL TWINS. PROBABILITY OF PATERNITY: MARCUS BLACKWELL (CONFIRMED)."
A tear slipped silently down Marcus's cheek, hitting the parchment.
For six years, while he was raising Lily in luxury, tucking her into silk sheets and protecting her with private armies, his other daughter was living in cold, neglected rooms across the country, wearing duct-taped shoes and clutching an old teddy bear.
The grief in his chest tore open like a fresh wound, but rising above the pain was an unyielding, terrifying resolve.
Marcus stood up, buttoning his black suit jacket.
"Viktor," Marcus said, his voice dropping into a register that made the seasoned security chief straighten in rigid attention.

"Yes, Mr. Blackwell?"
"Prepare the helicopter. We are going to Joliet."
