Chapter 4 - The Hospital VaultWhile agents secured Derek and Collins on the porch, an emergency medical team rushed into my hallway to evaluate Emily.

Her blood pressure was dangerously high from the trauma.

“We need to get her to St. Jude’s Maternity Ward immediately, Judge Bennett,” the head paramedic urged. “She’s going into early labor.”

I squeezed Emily’s hand tight as they lifted her onto a gurney. “I’m right behind you, baby.”

Within twenty minutes, Emily was admitted to a private, high-security room on the labor deck at St. Jude’s Hospital, guarded by two armed federal marshals.

While doctors stabilized her contractions, Agent Vance met me in the doctor’s lounge, setting a encrypted tablet onto the table.

“Judge Bennett,” Vance said, playing an audio file. “Your sealed wiretap warrant caught Derek calling his primary offshore banker thirty minutes after he assaulted Emily.”

On the recording, Derek’s arrogant voice was crystal clear: “Transfer the fifteen million from the construction account to Zurich tonight. If Victoria Bennett tries to use her judge title to block me, I’ll release the staged photos of Emily.”

My eyes burned with cold, unyielding rage. Derek hadn't just beaten my daughter; he had prepared a blackmail campaign against my judicial seat to force me to stay silent while he fled the country with stolen syndicate money!
