Chapter 15 - The Vows in the OrchardOn a magnificent, sun-drenched Saturday in September, our wedding took place beneath the spreading branches of the historic apple orchard in Granville, Ohio.

The rustic wooden arbor was draped in white tulle, ivy, and blooming autumn roses. Over a hundred of our closest friends, legal colleagues, foundation scholars, and family members sat on wooden benches arranged across the lush green grass.
Lily walked down the aisle first, wearing a delicate white lace dress and a flower crown, moving steadily with her crutches while scattering pink rose petals with absolute, beaming concentration. Our guests stood up, applauding softly with tears in their eyes.
Then, Julian and I walked down the grass path side-by-side, dressed in matching charcoal tuxedos with white silk boutonnieres, our eyes locked on each other with profound, steady devotion.
Underneath the golden afternoon sun, surrounded by the people we loved most, we exchanged our vows.
"Daniel," Julian spoke clearly, his voice carrying across the quiet orchard. "You are my anchor, my partner, and my greatest blessing. I vow to stand by your side through every storm, to cherish your children as my own, and to love you with every beat of my heart, for all eternity."
May you like
"Julian," I replied, my voice steady and clear. "You brought sunlight back into a house of shadows. You taught us what true safety feels like. I am yours, completely and forever."
When the minister pronounced us husbands, Julian pulled me into a passionate, breathtaking kiss while Lily cheered at the top of her lungs and our guests erupted into thunderous, joyful applause.
