"Ethan Walker," Victoria declared, speaking aloud so every board member could hear. "You saved my life while risking the one chance you had to save your daughter's. That isn't a lack of commitment—that is the highest standard of character I have ever witnessed."
She pulled out an executive folder from her portfolio and placed it gently in front of Ethan.
"I am officially offering you the position of VP of Systems Engineering," Victoria announced. "Starting salary: $250,000, along with full family medical coverage starting today, and a personal bonus covering all of your daughter's medical debts."
Ethan stared at the contract in absolute shock. Tears welled in his eyes as he thought of Lily, safe, healthy, and provided for.

"Say you'll accept," Victoria smiled, gently clasping his hands. "Because Northline needs a man like you."
