Chapter 12 - The Final Showdown

The final confrontation took place at midnight inside Dominic’s massive, cavernous shipping terminal down by the Philadelphia waterfront. Julian and a handful of desperate, armed loyalists held Carl Bennett hostage near a stack of shipping containers, waiting to ambush Dominic when he arrived. But Dominic was a step ahead; his elite enforcement team had already surrounded the perimeter silently under the cover of the midnight fog. Stepping out alone into the harsh halogen lights of the loading bay, Dominic faced his traitorous cousin with absolute, unshakeable authority. “It’s over, Julian,” Dominic called out, his voice echoing off the steel containers. Julian laughed hysterically, holding a pistol to a shaking Carl’s head. “You always thought you were untouchable, Dominic! Let’s see how invincible you are when everything burns!” Before Julian could pull the trigger, a sharp, precise shot from Marcus’s sniper rifle knocked the weapon clean out of Julian’s hand. Within seconds, Dominic’s men swarmed the area, neutralizing the remaining thugs in a bloodless, swift tactical sweep. Julian was subdued and zip-tied, his brief, pathetic bid for power ending in total disgrace.
